Awaiting Eyes Foundation is a UK based registered charity organisation. We have a team of volunteers working in the earthquake affected area of Mahildara/Bani Minhasan, in the district of Bagh, Pakistan. This village was very close to the epicentre of the earthquake, killing thousands of people. We are supporting 283 orphans with food, clothing and education.

There are massive amounts of long-term relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction that are going to be required. A major factor that contributed to the devastation caused by the earthquake on 8th October which was so deadly for the people of Pakistan was the startling collapse of the poorly constructed public sector buildings.

These buildings consisted of schools, hospitals, offices, etc. The destruction of those buildings at their busiest hour was perhaps the single most heart-breaking episode of the overall devastation caused by the killer quake. Thousands of students of all ages together with their teachers never found the time to leave their classes and make it into the open.
